Yesterday morning, I got into my truck…now, my truck is a “fixer-upper.” It belonged to a general contractor who used it as his “work truck,” and not only was it never cleaned before I bought it, but he also had chain smoked in it for 5 years.
When I bought it from his estate, the first thing I did was completely clean it inside and out…except for the seat. It was too hot and humid to clean the cloth seat. So, I covered it with a towel, and purchased a couple of those air fresheners that you attach to the dash vents and it seemed to work. For awhile, anyways. That is, until the air fresheners were used up.
This morning? The smell is completely and totally gone! Instead of the sickening smell of grease, nicotine, and mildew OR the floral smell of an air freshener, I climbed into the cab of a fresh, clean, almost new smelling truck!
Will it stay this way? The answer is yes…for a long time. Granted, at some point, this fall when it cools off, I will need to clean the seat, but until then, I can drive the truck without having to crack the window to get some fresh air.
